Murder At Mellow Mushroom

Last night my wife and I decided to visit Mellow Mushroom again. We haven’t been in weeks and had a craving for their Gourmet White pizza.
It’s the same every time. We always order the Gourmet White minus the tomatoes and with the onions only on my half. Every once in a blue moon though, I’ll order a small Mighty Meaty and she’ll get plain old cheese. We always get their cheese bread sticks. Last night they were different. They’re usually a big sub roll all sliced up with the cheese and stuff on top. Last night it came out as french bread slices. Way less bread than they normally serve, but delicious anyway. They also offer a ten percent discount if you have an annual state park pass. Ten percent seems small, but it shaves over two dollars off our bill every time we eat there.
On to the point…
On the way up the stairs into the building, I noticed a big mass out of the corner of my eye. To ensure myself it wasn’t another hallucination brought on by my caffeine withdrawal, I turned my head to see a big flock of pigeons rounding the corner of the building. As soon as my brain registered the fact that they were pigeons, there was a sudden explosion of feathers. So many in fact that it nearly clouded out the whole flock.
The flock kept flying and as the feathers cleared, there sat a hawk on the small grassy knoll, proudly grasping his prey. He stood tall and proud, as if to say “Look what I did!” while turning his head left and right. It was almost like he was looking around to make sure everyone witnessed his prowess as a hunter. A mere second later, he spread his wings and flew away with pigeon in hand…er…talon.

we've lost all four of our "outside" birds to a hawk, its a bummer, but hey, thats what they do… oh yeah, i tried the waffle bowl sunday thing at dairy queen, not bad, but you just cant beat a good dilly bar! a local pizza place here sells what they call a "chicken choker" the best pizza ive had… strips of chicken with onions, tomato, cheese, bacon, green peppers with a white artichoke & spinach sauce, sounds nasty, but its damn good…
