This one was almost published in my high school newspaper after my English teacher went nuts about it. She read it and immediately posted it to the wall with several other “outstanding” works. I never thought it was all that good.

you were so far away
it was almost too late
and i should have said it sooner
i stayed hidden in myself
showing love for no one
not even myself
memories of my past
locked away forever
making me think
making me realize
i love you
